A little about me.

How I got here

It started with an interest in design.

In high school, I made logos, leaflets, and early website designs. I liked figuring out how to make something clear and useful. That interest eventually took me into software engineering.

I started on the frontend, then worked on SaaS products and APIs before moving into engineering management. That background still shapes how I work: I want to understand the customer’s experience as well as the code and systems behind it.

These days, much of my work is about helping other engineers take on more responsibility. At SecurityScorecard and Alteryx, that included supporting people as they moved into Staff, Senior Staff, and Lead Engineer roles. Seeing someone become ready for that next step is one of the parts of management I value most.

I still enjoy writing software. My technical background includes React, TypeScript, Node.js, and databases, and I continue to design and build Spotbase independently. It gives me a place to work through product and technical decisions firsthand.

Kitesurfing, Greece, and a side project.

The idea behind Spotbase

Home is in the Czech Republic. For kitesurfing, I return to a favorite spot in Greece almost every year. Through conversations with the owners, I learned more about the work of running the place: keeping track of customers, planning lessons, organizing instructors, and managing equipment. Those conversations led me to start Spotbase.

I also built a dashboard for visitors, with current wind conditions, upcoming events, and a jumping leaderboard. It’s a small project that brings together two things I enjoy: being out on the water and making something people can use.
